Frequently asked questions about textile & shoe care for winter sports
- How often should I wash my ski clothing with technical detergent?
Wash your ski clothing every 3-5 days of skiing or as soon as it is heavily soiled on a gentle programme at 30 °C to remove dirt and preserve the membrane function. - Which waterproofing agent is suitable for Gore-Tex® jackets in the textile & shoe care category?
A fluorine-free, nano-based waterproofing spray reactivates the water-repellent surface without blocking the Gore-Tex® membrane. - Can I use any boot cleaner for my ski boots?
No, use special shoe cleaners that have an antibacterial effect, kill odour-causing germs and do not attack the lining. - How do electric drying systems work in the textile & shoe care category?
They gently guide warm, dry air into the shoe, preventing mould growth without damaging the material by overheating. - Which care spray in the textile & shoe care category protects leather best?
A leather spray with beeswax and silicone cares for the material, maintains its suppleness and ensures long-lasting water repellency. - Do I have to treat my ski boots with boot cleaner after every tour?
Cleaning the outside after every tour is sufficient; the inner lining should be refreshed at least once a week with a mild cleaner. - How long does the impregnation last in textile & shoe care with intensive use?
With regular use and correctly applied impregnation, the protection lasts for around 5-10 washes or around 20-25 days of use. - Are there environmentally friendly detergents in the textile & shoe care category?
Yes, many modern technical detergents are free of biocides and are based on renewable raw materials, without any loss of performance. - Can care spray in the textile & shoe care category also be used on softshell?
Yes, softshell generally tolerates the same waterproofing sprays as hardshell, but pay attention to the manufacturer's instructions for the material. - How do I store my ski and boot care products correctly over the summer?
Store them in a cool, dry place away from light - this will keep the pumps, spray heads and ingredients in good working order until the next winter season.
