DESCRIPTION

Optimised on the basis of a scientific life cycle assessment, the Atomic Backland 89 SL is light and efficient on the ascent and offers excellent buoyancy as well as the necessary dose of stability for the way down to the valley.

The new construction scores with an improved CO2 balance (30% less emissions) and generates less production waste. The All-Terrain Profile with a new wood-to-fibreglass ratio has created a ski shape that simplifies the ascent and optimises downhill performance even on harder snow. In the HRZN 3D - an evolution of the successful first generation HRZN Tech - the bevelled, three-dimensional shovel provides more contact area for better floatation in powder and easier handling in changing snow conditions. The full-length Carbon Backbone gives the ski extra stiffness so it remains stable at high speeds in any touring terrain, while the Poplar/Karuba wood core makes it light and manoeuvrable. Thanks to the All Mountain Rocker and 89mm centre width, this ski can cope with a wide range of conditions in any terrain.

This makes the Backland 89 SL the ideal all-rounder for touring skiers who appreciate light weight on the ascent but top performance on the way down.
