The International Ski Federation FIS, for example, stipulates minimum sizes for FIS children's and youth racing skis. A minimum ski length of 130 cm is prescribed for the "SL" category (slalom carvers) and a maximum length of 188 cm for the "GS" category (Racecarver for giant slalom). A radius of 17 metres is prescribed for the same category. For the Giant Slalom and Super Giant Slalom, the skis may also be a maximum of 65 mm wide.
