The Atomic Backland 88 is a highly versatile ski for any touring terrain that is shaping the future of the sport.
The construction, optimised on the basis of a scientific life cycle assessment, offers an improved CO2 balance with 30% fewer emissions. For this, more locally grown poplar wood is used, but less fibreglass and resin. In addition, the ski engineers have developed waste-reducing sidewalls, which minimises the environmental impact of manufacturing the ski. In the new All-Terrain Profile, the ratio of wood to fibreglass has been changed, as has the thickness of the ski and thus its torsional stiffness. The result is an even more versatile ski that copes optimally with all conditions - even hard-packed snow. In the HRZN 3D - a further development of the successful first generation HRZN Tech - the bevelled, three-dimensional shovel ensures better lift in powder. It also works harmoniously with the Dura Cap sidewall, enabling direct power transfer from the shovel to the sidewalls and edges. The Backland 88 has a little more centre width and brings the necessary portion of stability - for the perfect mix of flow and performance in any terrain.
