Slalom skis and giant slalom skis - high quality equipment in the Profi Ski Online Shop
Slalom is the term used to describe a repeated sequence of turns characterized by a series of gates. While in giant slalom the course has fewer gates and the slalom skiers accelerate faster as a result, slalom is characterized by significantly shorter turns and a narrower fall line. The slalom ski or giant slalom ski is specifically designed for this type of skiing.
Slalom GS racing skis - precisely crafted and advanced skis
In alpine skiing, slalom is not only considered one of the oldest competitions, but also one of the most demanding. Due to the short distances between the individual gates, a high degree of technique is required to master the rapid changes of direction. The material requirements are correspondingly high. With both ski models, precise edge grip and a fluid turn initiation must be guaranteed.
With a freely gliding upper deck and improved material, the Slalom GS race ski dampens the impact of blows and thus provides more stability on the descent. Both model variants have a special cut shape - the so-called sidecut - which is adapted for short, medium and Lange radiuses. Thus, a slalom ski is primarily designed for dynamics and fast reaction, while giant slalom skis are significantly smoother and more fluid in handling.
Due to the high technical demands and the comparatively fast speeds during the descent, slalom skis are more recommended for advanced skiers. In contrast, among the professional disciplines of skiing, giant slalom is the one that comes closest to mass sport skiing.
The slalom ski is adapted to the most demanding competition in alpine skiing. Harmonious flex, high turning ability and fast performance on the piste enable top performance in terms of dynamics and speed. Giant slalom skis, on the other hand, focus more on smooth running and harmonious turn initiation. You can find both in versatile designs here at XSPO.
- Slalom models are technically highly demanding
- Both the slalom ski and the giant slalom ski are adapted to special conditions
- The giant slalom ski is also used by recreational skiers
